Want to learn more about our enterprise solutions?
Vast Technology has currently developed 4TB, 8TB, 16TB, 25TB, 32TB and 128TB drives which are in beta test. The cost of Vast SSFAD Devices will be slightly lower than the cost for SSD’s. Market analysis has shown that Nand Flash drops in price about every 4 to 6 months. We are also currently developing a 512TB SSFAD.
Vast has several patents protecting the technology. SD Card’s are Nand-Flash Card’s, so essentially all SSD are also SD Card readers because they read the nand-flash cards that are soldered onto the board. When reading 1 card is its called a card-reader, when reading multiple nand-flash cards or SD cards simultaneously, its called a Flash Drive or a Solid State Drive. Vast Technology has developed & mastered a way to make the unit work with raid within raid, with hot swap features, which has never been done before. Some other features of the VastStick, also include: read/write speeds of USB3.1, scalable, upgradable, compatible with all devices, wireless and self powered. Because this a new technology, we can understand your negative concern, but one should always do their research before making negative statements. We look forward to beta testers of our Next-Gen devices.
Vast Technology Group Market Reports and Market Analysis within the last 5 years show that Flash Memory production has increased by over 2000% and prices have dropped by 50%-70% on average each year, and they will be at par with HDD within 2 years, and eventually be cheaper than HDD. On the other hand, HDD production has dropped by over 50% during that same time period, and HDD are on the way out, probably making them become obsolete within the next 5-10 years just like cassette tapes are. Not to mention the extremely High Failure Rate of Hard Drives, at an average 7-10% per year, which in essence defeats the purpose of having a backup if it will ultimately have a high chance of failure and risk losing all your data. VastStick was made with this in mind, that is why you can buy the unit and populate it as your needs grow, start with a few as 1 card and add more as you need to, while Flash Memory prices drop and You can Grow as You Go.
Yes it can read/write at the same time.
Our next product in development that we plan to launch soon will give you up to 1TB of Storage in our chassis for smartphones at a fraction of the cost of what it would cost you to upgrade for just a few meager GB with smartphone companies.
Vast Technology the VastStick will be programmable, so you can set it with or without raid, and use it with as few as 1 microSD or as many as 16. In addition the VastStick is versatile, portable, expandable and is the base device for the next generation home cloud system Vast Technology will be implementing in the near future. Some great updates: Arrow Electronics a global 23 Billion Technology company has just endorsed and supported us.
You don’t need to chain them together, the VastStick can currently house up to 4TB with current commercially grade 256GB cards, 512GB & 1Tb microSD cards are only available now for enterprise, eventually they will be commercially available which will allow you to increase your capacity accordingly.
Vast Technology VastStick USB3.1 read/write speed will be about 200-300MB/s so even if we are being very conservative and cut that by half to about 150MB/s (1.2GBit/s) speed = it would take 26 Minutes to copy 4TB of data at 150MB/s.
Vast Technology Group Vast Technology has been in development for over 4 years now, and has multiple patents on our technology. Price will be as low as $99 for the standalone unit not populated with any microSD cards, this will be the special early bird price discounted by 50%. After the super early bird special the price will be: $ 129 and the regular retail price is $199.
Hard Drives, failure rates range between 2-16% per year, depending on the brand, model and size capacity, if we were to add up all the yearly failure rates within a 5-year period you will find that the total risk of failure is between 10 to 80%, which is unbelievable and in essence it defeats the purpose of having a backup HDD if it will ultimately have a high chance of failure and you will risk losing all your data. VastStick was made with this in mind, that is why you can buy the unit and populate it as your needs grow, start with a few as 1 card and add more as you need to, while Flash Memory prices drop and You Can Grow as You Go. Grow means you add a new micro SD card when you chose. We also have a limited 20-year warranty.
More info and specs will be listed soon on our website; Vast Technology proprietary technology is patented and we will make available for the public soon. Hot Swappable smart raid is not new, however Hot swappable raid-within-raid within the unit itself is new and innovative, as is power the consumption function which includes the rotation of parallel banked usage of pre-configured number of cards at a time.
The Vast Drive & VastStick works and functions better, if an area becomes damaged it is replaced with a new micro SD card, These cards are Nand Flash. Also, minimal power is used as each section only is working when read or write is required. Other areas do not need power when not in use. This reduces heat and overall power requirement. SSD was a excellent advancement in technology, Vast drive has taken it to new efficient level.
No, we are the first and have secured many international Patents approved. Inside the unit, we have achieved Read write speeds that exceed USB 3.1. Internal with many micro SD cards (standard or industrial grade) the unit can be formatted in many configurations. In addition, there device functions with raid upon raid with hot swap features using micro SD cards. This with a GUI makes for command and control over the internals of a hard drive that no one else.
This means you can add to overall unit to expand memory as your budget allows. Or as technology and prices drop of micro SD cards you can exchange cards for larger more affordable cards. As prices drop every 4-6 months. Soon a 512 GB micro SD card will be very affordable.
To have a hard drive that you can adjust the internal features and add too the memory as you choose is an incredible accomplishment. To have a unit that has a 20 year life span that is high memory storage in small footprint using little power is very exciting and has never been done before.

With a new technology spreading the word is important we chose this model to start. We already have 4.5 years and millions invested into development.
The VastStick was developed with the foresight of thinking ahead, and one of things we wanted to achieve is to reduce the cost of data storage. We resolved this issue, by making the Vast Stick, versatile, portable, expandable, built-in fault-tolerance, with raid functions, hot-swappable function, scalable, programmable and fast, this is why you can grow as you go, where you can start with as small as 64GB, (Vast Stick + 64GB) at a low cost of $125, and buy more flash cards as you need them. The cost of micro SD Flash Cards is set by the market and they have historically decreased in price by 40-50% every 6 months or so, therefore it’s projected that larger capacity size Flash memory cards will become very affordable within the next 6mths to 18mths.
Vast Technology Corporation only uses and recommends you use prime quality microSD cards, and our patent technology makes it so it can amalgamate the speed of each card, so that the transfer speed is a multiple of how many cards in your unit. Example: 16 cards x 50MB/s = 800MB/s transfer speed.
VastStick will work with all O.S, WIn, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS. When we developed the VastStick we wanted to make something that can work universally and that can obviously handle all files, similar to an SSD or HDD, but it being a lot more advanced and versatile while having unique innovative features.
The VastStick will come with a 4 in 1 cable set, so you will have the following connection options available: USB-to-micro USB, USB to USB, USB to lightning, USB to USB-C.
Vast Stick, has raid-within-raid & it will provide hardware raid, programmable, so the device can be set to any raid within the device itself. It also has hot swappability function, this unique feature allows you to never lose data, example: if device is set to raid 1, and a card goes bad, you can easily remove it and replace it without losing any data.

The Vast Stick, is; versatile, portable, expandable, built-in fault-tolerance, with raid functions, hot-swappable function, scalable, programmable and fast.
SSD’s comprise of NAND-Flash cards, the Vast Stick uses removable micro SD cards which are NAND-Flash cards. SSD’s contain essentially the same type of nand-flash cards, anywhere from 10 to 20 or more depending on the size and model, except they are soldered unto a board, so if 1 card goes bad, your SSD is toast.
In addition, SSD hard drives lack all the features and advantages the VastStick has, such as; scalability. portability. expandability, versatility, fault tolerance speed, etc. In turn this makes the Vast Stick more reliable and durable.
The VastStick, has different configurations, our design allows our device to have Raid within Raid, and it will also provide hardware raid for data redundancy, It can support raid 0/1 natively, And it can then also work in any raid configuration, it will provide hardware raid, programmable, so the device can be set to any raid within the device itself. Therefore with its hot swappability function, which is a unique feature and the 1st of its kind in this form factor, allows you to never lose data, example: if device is set to raid 1, and a card goes bad, you can easily remove it and replace it without losing any data.
For a complete up to date list of advantages the Vast Stick has, please refer to our websites for updated info, and our white papers and benchmark tests when they become available as further developments are completed.

As newer higher density microSD cards become available for the consumer market and at cheaper prices, the VastStick will be able to support up to 16TB with 1TB microSD cards in the very near future.
The Vast Stick will be programmable, so you can set it with or without raid, and use it with as few as 1 microSD or as many as 16. In addition, the Vast Stick is versatile, portable, expandable and is the base device for the next generation home cloud system Vast Technology will be implementing in the near future.
Vast Technology has protected and patented technology that allows our Vast Stick to perform at USB3.1 speeds and faster in future revisions with our 4TB+ and eventually 16TB data capacities. Our next generation interfaces will be available in USB3.1, SATA3, SAS4. PCIe.. etc The next generation we are calling Vast Turbo. Vast Stick is for a niche market of every day users.
The low price you paid is consistent with fake high capacity flash drives, I’m afraid what you purchased is not 2TB, it appears you may have gotten deceived into a believing you purchased 2TB, when in fact its most probably a 16GB faked out to read 2TB. Be careful in storing any important data on that drive you will over-right itself and lose all your data.
We would advise you to check your 2TB flash drive with Flash Drive Tester v1.14 or any other Flash Driver tester online, its free to download the app and test if your drive is fake.
The Wifi/Battery attachment unit is optional and be used when you chose it is not a requirement but an innovative option if you chose to use it. It has applications. You can choose just to use a VastStick by itself using only the USB to connect, together with the versatile 4 in 1 cable thatis included which allows you to connect USB-to-USB, USB-to-microUSB, USB-to-Lightining, USB-to-USB-C.
The Wi-Fi/Battery Module attachment is optional and can be connected only if you choose to use it. If you don’t like using Wi-Fi, you can just disconnect the Wi-Fi module, and only use the VastStick.
Yes, we plan to have our technology in a protective case that will have 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of data storage and also have an extra slim battery for more life.
Yes we will be making Vast Turbo, it will look like Vast Stick but have different connectors available. VastStick is made for a simple niche market. Vast Turbo will be for specific users who desire incredible speeds. Maximum potential with next revisions the Vast Turbo will be able to perform at transfer speeds upwards of 1000-1500MB/s.
With the emerging 3D-Nand SD Cards, soon to be available, SD cards will reach transfer speeds of about 300MB/s each, therefore future revisions of the Vast Turbo will be able to perform at even faster transfer speeds in the range of PCIe speeds and above. The interfaces that are going to be made available will depend on what the target market will require, some of the interfaces we will have available will be: USB3.1, SATA3, SAS4, PCIe etc.
The VastStick will work with both. Simply use the 4 in 1 connector cable included with the unit, or the wireless feature with the WiFi/Battery attachment device.
The fastest SSD’s on the market today for consumer use have read/write speeds of about 500-550 MB/s with SATA 3 interface, with price ranges between $400 – $800 for 512GB. There are also faster SSD’s for enterprise use, which have PCIe Gen3 interfaces that claim to have write read/speeds of about 2000MB/s with much higher prices of $3200+ for 320GB and higher capacities naturally having higher price tags.
The Vast Stick USB3.1 will surpass consumer SSD’s speeds of 550MB/s and we are current in development to eventually surpass SAS4 speeds above 3000MB/s. Our protected and patent technology brings forth the next generation in memory technology and makes it possible to amalgamate and/or also raid various types of Nand-flash memory cards while achieving maximum efficiency and speed from pre-configured sets of Nand-flash cards thus making the VastStick the most unique, efficient yet versatile Memory Device on the Market today.
The VastStick is not an SD reader, it’s far more than that, it’s like saying an SSD is a Nand-Flash Card reader. The VastStick takes Flash memory to the next level.
Here is a list of some of VastStick Features & Advantages:
1- Our technology can merge and amalgamate the capacity and speeds of essentially any and all amount of cards in its unit.

Vast Technology patent protected developments and innovation include new advancements in memory technology (includes but not limited to SD cards)
We have a memory reader, controller and driver technology just to mention a few.: “The current level of technology that exists simply won’t do what we are promising” This is 100% true, whatever hasn’t existed will exist, we are NOT working with the current level of technology, that’s why Vast Technology has created and patented protected advanced technology.
We have made something new never seen by man before. Furthermore, we went ahead and developed, built and tested it. Now we are offering it to all the astute early adopters before it becomes accepted and commercialized worldwide.
Comparing a VastStick to a card reader is like comparing a Ferrari to a tricycle.
Optane is a neat technology, but is not how ours functions. We have addressed issues that they did not ever address. In addition, we are not competing with new forms of Flash technology, we embrace it and integrate into our technology design to make Flash memory more efficient and better. The nice thing about Optane, is it shows people there is huge advancements going on.
Optane technology and 3D Nand Technology is fantastic for Vast Technology because our units with our coding will act as a controller and in conjunction and complimentary to whatever new memory technology that is developed out there. Intel, Micron and others don’t address the 4 key features of our patent protected design and technology, which is what we have done, and this technology is protected is proprietary to Vast Technology:
1- power consumption function- parallel banked usage of pre-determined group of cards at a time -reading these sets of cards in rotation.
2- raid-within-raid & we can provide hardware raid .
3- hot swappability function.
4- unit can be configured and have the ability to increase read/write speeds as per specific needs.
This is totally misleading and impossible-Many think this is true but lack actual knowledge. Flash Memory Drives like an 2TB SSD, range in price between $500-$1500 or higher, depending on the brand, specs and speed of the drive. The Nand-Flash Memory Market prices are set by the main manufacturers of the Raw Nand Flash Material, they essentially provide the whole world and all the other manufacturers of Memory Devices the Nand Flash material to produce the memory devices such as SD Cards and SSD’s.
Nand Flash memory has been dropping in price every year, and it will eventually become cheaper than HDD, however it will take some time before we will see a price of $15 for a 2TB flash drive. With the Vast Stick, we had this in mind, and therefore that is why it allows you to Grow as you Go, start with small capacity and increase it as you need more. Meaning you buy micro SD cards standard or industrial grade most all users will require standard and simply insert them as you need them.
